Interfilm Berlin selects HRAFF Programming Director Malcolm Blaylock for International Jury
HRAFF Programming Director Malcolm Blaylock has been selected by Berlin’s major short film festival Interfilm, to sit on the International Jury for the online award; Confrontations – against violence and intolerance.
Confrontations, screens 24 films across three programs, separated into three themes; No Choice, Last Resort, and Power Games. The films selected challenge the audience to take action and demonstrate moral courage as reflected in stories told onscreen. Adventure-filled narratives populate the program, exploring power, choice, conflict and agency behind confrontational violence and intolerance. Characters overcome adversary, resist enforced borders, seek safety against danger, make life-changing decisions, and take leaps of faith towards peace or revolution.
Malcolm has said of his selection by Interfilm “it is a very prestigious film festival and I’m excited to be a part of the International Jury this year.”
Malcolm will be in Berlin for the festival from November 10 to 15 to serve on the jury for the competition. To view the films included in Confrontations and the entire program visit Interfilm.de.
